District Governor Lion Umashankary Janaranjan PMJF PMAF is a respected humanitarian, leader, entrepreneur, and retired Government Officer from Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. An alumna of Sri Shanmuga Hindu Ladies College, she serves her alma mater as Secretary of the Old Girls' Association. Her inspiring journey in Lionism began in 2002 with the Lions Club of Trincomalee Town. Over more than two decades of service, she has held key leadership roles including Club Secretary, Treasurer, Club President (2007), Zone Chairperson (2008–2009), and Region Chairperson (2009–2010 & 2014–2015).

Committed to continuous excellence, she has completed advanced Lions training programs including RLLI, Certified Guiding Lion, New Voices, and Train the Trainer, successfully extending two Lions Clubs and sponsoring eight new members. A Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow (PMJF) and Progressive Mahendra Amarasooriya Fellow (PMAF), her honors include six International President's Appreciation Certificates and Medals, Membership Key Awards, Club Extension Awards, and the Legacy of the Lion Pin. Internationally, she has represented Sri Lanka at Lions Conventions in Chicago, Hamburg, Sydney, Milan, Busan, Bangkok, Canada, and India.

Professionally, she is a successful entrepreneur in banquet, restaurant, and optical services, and former Director of the Women's Wing of the Trincomalee Business Council. Following her tenure as First Vice District Governor, she was elected District Governor for Lions International District 306 D9 (2026–2027). She is the beloved wife of Past District Governor Lion B. Janaranjan PMJF PMAF, and together they are blessed with two accomplished daughters—Leo Lion Madhuvanthi and Leo Lion Sowmya Janaranjan, MBA—and their beloved grandsons, Ashwath and Tharinath.
