Protect the environment to create healthier communities and a more sustainable, climate-resilient world.

5 Key Sub-Initiatives

Environmental stewardship is vital to securing a healthy, sustainable future for Sri Lanka's rich biodiversity. Lions District 306 D9 leads aggressive tree planting campaigns, watershed restoration projects, riverbed cleanups, and plastic waste management programs across urban and rural zones.

From reforesting degraded watershed slopes in the Central Highlands to installing solar-powered clean drinking water filtration units in drought-prone dry zones, Lions inspire local communities to safeguard natural ecosystems and combat the growing impact of climate change.

Our environmental directives also prioritize school environmental clubs, coastal cleanups, and human-elephant conflict mitigation. By educating young minds and planting indigenous shade and fruit trees, Lions ensure that Sri Lanka's natural beauty and economic ecosystems remain protected for future generations.
