Lions Global Priority Childhood Cancer Support
Provide holistic care, treatment assistance, and emotional support for children and families battling childhood cancer.
A childhood cancer diagnosis brings immense physical, emotional, and financial strain to young patients and their families. Lions District 306 D9 stands firmly alongside these courageous children, providing vital medical subsidies, specialized chemotherapy drugs, and family travel assistance during long treatment cycles.
Working closely with the Apeksha National Cancer Institute Maharagama and pediatric oncology units in regional hospitals, Lions fund specialized non-available medicines, renovate pediatric wards into vibrant, child-friendly spaces, and donate critical medical equipment like infusion pumps.
Recognizing the long burden on parents travelling from distant rural villages, Lions also support parental hostels and distribute specialized high-protein nutritional care hampers. Through recreational days, art sessions, and gift distributions, we bring joy and hope to young champions fighting cancer.
